Setting Up Trading Partners for 277CA

How can I setup Trading Partners to receive 277CA file?

The creation of the 277CA is usually initiated by the Trading Partner who sends the 837 claim file. Though the 277CA is not part of the original HIPAA transactions, it is seen as an important part of lowering the costs of healthcare. This Follow the steps below to setup the Trading Partners:

 

1.Go to EDI Exchange > Trading Partners in the main menu window.

 

The following window will open:

 

The Trading Partner setup with the option to generate 277CA files.

Here, we see the "Create a 277CA for 837 claims" option selected. If checked, the 277CA will be generated every time an 837 EDI file from the selected Trading Partner is processed. Then, it will be sent back according to the settings in the EDI file exchange method.

 

2.Once you have made this selection, click on "Save" so the changes are applied.
