What are Application Modules?

All HIPAAsuite products have a base version with basic functions enabled, such as displaying claims on screen and printing them to paper. To make the product more affordable and allow customers to activate only the features they need, HIPAAsuite products are divided into separate modules. The following may be licensed individually:

What is the EDI Exchange module?

EDI Exchange is a module that works across all HIPAAsuite products and has a separate license. HIPAA Claim Status Responder processes EDI files but does not receive or send EDI files to and from your Trading Partners. EDI Exchange handles the following transactions:

oExchanging EDI files, which means it handles Trading Partners and their requirements.

oCreating logs of sending and receiving files.

oSupports transport methods such as FTP, SFTP, SOAP, and MIME.

oManages functional acknowledgments like 999, TA1, and 277CA.

oHandles security and encryption.
